Do not include these items in your resume
1. Personal Info
Leave off details such as, marital status, height, weight, birth date, age, or place of birth. Employers shouldn't make employment decisions based on these factors.
2. Irrelevant work experience
To many job seekers, a resume is little more than a comprehensive list of work experience. However, just because it’s work experience doesn’t necessarily mean it belongs on your resume. All employers want to see on your resume is information that is clearly related to the position they’re trying to fill. A detailed list of every job you’ve ever had will just make it more difficult for employers to locate the relevant information – and may inadvertently put up a red flag for hiring managers.
3. A Photo
Unless you are applying for a modelling or acting job, there's no need for a photo. Provide the URL of your LinkedIn profile
4. Lackluster Academics
Don’t bother with a certificate you completed in 2007 that you do not use anymore - for example, if you completed a senior first aid course in 2007 it won’t be deemed appropriate for 2022 as it will be most likely to be expired.
5. Unprofessional e-mail account
Don’t use that quirky email address you made in 2002 like cowboy-ranch65@hotmail.com”. use your first and last name eg joeblogs@outlook.com
